As the cymbal section leader for the Illini Drumline, part of my job was to write the cymbal parts for the warmup sequence that we played every day. I worked with the other drumline section leaders to write this sequence, and we incorporated several existing musical exercises, as well as many new musical excerpts that we wrote ourselves. The video above is the cymbal section feature that I wrote and taught to the section. Some of the visual work was developed with the help of other members of the section.
